The Kids Cottage Environment

The Kids Cottage Environment

We asked our families to describe the environment at Kids Cottage…

“Caring”
“Nurturing”
“Respectful”
“Homeliness”
“Home away from home”
“Happy environment”
“KC is just like a big warm hug”

How do we do this…

We are committed to supporting our Educators who understand the importance of developing and maintaining relationships with each other, our children and their families.

Collaborative, respectful relationships with children and their families, provide children with a sense of belonging. Responsive and meaningful interactions, organically build trust, encouraging each child to feel secure, confident and included whilst supporting their learning journey.

Working collectively, in a relaxed and positive atmosphere, we focus on meeting the needs of each child and family, to reach their development potential.

Our gentle encouraging approach, enables children to expand their developing life skills. Actively participating in many life experiences, children are involved in planting, caring for and harvesting vegetables and meal preparation to list a few. These activities encourage children to believe that they are capable and competent.

The ever changing, adapted spaces provide a rich, nurturing environment that stimulate imagination, promote creativity and enhance aesthetic development. Learning environments are arranged to ensure functionality whilst providing open ended resources.  Whilst we also continually invest in innovative equipment and resources that promote children’s curiosity and stimulate their thinking.

Possessing in-depth knowledge of each child we use a diverse range of teaching strategies in these versatile learning environments to extend the child’s current thinking and continue their development.

We promote an inclusive and equitable environment where interaction with other preschool age groups is encouraged.

When it comes to making a decision on selecting the most suitable Childcare centre for your child, evaluating the educators, the environment and centres philosophy are critical.

We recommend booking in tour of the centre so that you can meet the educators and experience their workplace environment and culture.

Attached here is a checklist developed by Starting Blocks which helps to identify what to look for when visiting a childcare centre.
