23 Oct Top 6 Qualities we look for in our Preschool Educators
Many teachers receive the call to work in education. However it takes a special kind of educator to work alongside young preschool children.
Supporting cognitive, behavioural, social and physical developmental milestones, it is vital educators have a love for Early Childhood Education and pursue formal education. Additionally here are our top 6 qualities we love to see in Preschool Educators:
3. Creativity: being able to adapt lesson plans to concepts that children can understand and have interest in. Incorporating learning games and other teaching techniques can keep children focused.
5. Flexibility: Unforeseen circumstances or learning hiccups can take the learning off course. Being adaptable can ensure important concepts are explored.
6. Understanding Diversity: Children come from many different home environments and backgrounds, which can lead to different learning styles. Early childhood teachers need to be skilled in working with varied learning styles to ensure all students are achieving identified learning objectives.
Selecting the most suitable Preschool for your child can be a very daunting process. We believe meeting the educators, experiencing the learning and workplace environments, is helpful step to undertake.
Attached here is a checklist inspired by Starting Blocks which helps to identify what to look for when visiting a childcare centre.
